Two more ships hit in Hormuz, China lowers fuel retail prices again and congestion at the Panama Canal reaches unusual levels.

There’s a reason they say you have to run the gauntlet. And ADNOC’s been having success with it so far… but there are risks! Two more ships - Navig8 Messi (IMO: 9482859) and Tarif (IMO: 9828390) - were hit doing the shuttle service through the southern Hormuz corridor. This brings the count to 18 vessels hit by the Iranians so far. UKMTO and the Americans stayed very quiet, initially not acknowledging the attack at all. Eventually, UKMTO reported a drone hit on a tanker (only one) causing minor damage just off the northern tip of Oman heading outbound. Fortunately, the UAE reported no injuries – and naturally condemned the attacks. UKMTO is as reliable as the ships’ AIS, because all is voluntary. And this kind of situation, things are not reported or transponders are not switched on.
