Are you on the IRGC naughty list? Qatar is offering QM, QL and AS for Sep and Oct FOB loading and VLCC freight rates are at an all-time high.
The IRGC published a list of 46 ‘non-compliant’ tankers that had got on its bad side (Check out page 3 for the list). Clearly, the Iranians are strengthening their grip on the Strait even further. The Persian Gulf Strait Authority declared STS transfers and transshipments will land the offending ships on their naughty list! The list includes the Al Watan (IMO: 9615030) and Navig8 Messi (IMO: 9482859), two of the vessels hit in the Strait last week – but no sign of the Tarif (IMO: 9828390). The Iranian parliament also approved tolls for transits through Hormuz. They’ve proven willing to seize ships that don’t comply already... Trump’s plans for a “crushing” economic blockade has done nothing so far to weaken Iran’s resolve.
