Trump wants peace at any cost, Saudi allocations for China reach another record low, while the ADB say their worst case scenario for Asia has come to fruition
Trump is ready for peace almost at any cost. His administration is terribly unpopular and 70% of Americans are against the war. He has a big mouth, and in all fairness, he can command a hellfire of nukes but regarding a conventional war, the US has been defeated and can’t get a grip on Iranian territory. Time to find and finalize an agreement before the 250 year fourth of July celebrations in the US. There cannot be a bunch of dead American soldiers as the backdrop. Peace is coming, maybe with an uncomfortable price and some empty noisy rhetoric here and there, but peace is coming. Middle Eastern countries have had enough, and they are cutting their own deals. The new peace in the Middle East will be a mix of Pax Arabica/Iranica but not Americana. Prices are therefore falling as they should. The Strait will be unbottled and if there are payments to the Iranians, they are far lower than what other arrangements would cost. Supply will come out.
